What You Should Know
Career coaching provides clients a step-by-step approach to making informed decisions about career choices and objectives.
You might need career coaching if you dread your job and the work is not exciting or inspiring. If you believe there might be a better use of your skills and knowledge but don’t know how to find what that is, you will likely benefit from career coaching.
If you are a young adult and are often on the hunt for another job, you might benefit from coaching to understand where you might best apply your talent for a more lasting career strategy.
What is career coaching and how do I know if I need it?
What do you provide as a coach?
Through discussion, assessments, clarifying questions, listening carefully, and guiding, I develop a relationship with clients to help them come to a place of clarity about work or their life purpose that would most likely lead them to a place of fulfillment and joy. The goal of this relationship is to help clients in building accountability, problem solving, and transforming their work or ministry life.
How does one-on-one career coaching work?
After you have agreed to coaching, you will receive an intake form to complete. I take an adaptive coaching style so ss a client, you will have input on the length and frequency of your sessions. Typically, I will meet with clients for 6, 10 or 12 weeks. During the first 6 meetings, we will meet weekly. Any meetings after 6 weeks will be bi-weekly. All meetings are by phone, skype, or Zoom and we can discuss specifics of meeting time during our initial conversation. Every other week, I will check in by email. Clients will have work to do one their own to prepare for the next step in their plan. Please plan to make time in your schedule to complete any homework, to stay one track with your goals.
